New Registration Procedures for Cork and Limerick

Share

The Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee, announced that the procedure for registrations and renewals of immigration permissions for those residing in counties Cork and Limerick is changing.

Update October 2024

With effect from 04 November 2024, online renewals of permissions from all applicants nationwide should be submitted using the ISD online renewal portal. Applicants will not need to attend the Burgh Quay Registration Office in person to renew an immigration permission, unless it is deemed necessary.

Update August 2024

The GNIB office in Anglesea Street, Cork City closed in August 2024. No further appointments will be issued. You need to renew online, or book an in-person appointment in Dublin for first-time registration.

From 8th July 2024

  • First time registrations for people residing in Cork and Limerick will be done at the Burgh Quay Registration Office in Dublin. If you are registering for the first time, you must make an appointment by ringing 1800 800 630. The phone line for first-time registration in Dublin is free. You will need to travel to Burgh Quay Registration office in Dublin for your appointment.

  • Renewals of permission for people residing in Cork and Limerick will now be done online. To renew a permission, you will need to  submit an application by using the Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) online renewal portal, which can be found here.

If you already submitted an appointment request to Cork City GNIB but prefer to renew online, you must cancel your appointment request with Cork City GNIB.
