We had a great time promoting our Community Sponsorship Programme at Volunteer Week in May. We're currently trying to bring fifteen Syrian families from Lebanon to Ireland to start a new life. But we need help.
Community Sponsorship Officer Ciara Fitzgibbon explains what people can do.
"The whole idea of Community Sponsorship Groups is gathering a bunch of ordinary people to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of these families. Nasc can help with all the paperwork and we ask the group to support the family with more practical things like choosing Lidl over Marks and Spencer's, or explaining how the immersion works. It's about helping them integrate and getting them through maybe the first year to eighteen-months of living in Ireland."
