Mark holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) and a Master of Human Rights and Criminal Justice Law (LLM) from Queens University Belfast. Mark completed his thesis on the Human Rights implications (under the ECHR) of victims of institutional abuse stemming from Government Reports into clerical abuse. He is particularly interested in the area of European and International Human Rights law. Prior to joining the Nasc legal team, Mark has worked in private and public law firms in Australia, and worked on litigation, administrative and employment law cases. Mark worked as a lawyer with the Victorian State Government’s Litigation, Public and Commercial law teams and on their response team to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. Mark has volunteered with Community Legal Centres in Australia, providing advice to individuals from minority and indigenous communities and advising on their rights. Mark is a lifelong supporter of human rights and social justice causes.
