Sinéad MacArtain
Sinéad holds a Bachelor of Law and LL.M. from University College Cork, and subsequently qualified as a lawyer in the US and Canada. After working as a solicitor in Canada, Sinéad returned to Ireland and has worked in the NGO sector supporting refugees since 2021. In 2021 and 2022, Sinéad worked with asylum seekers on Lesvos, Greece, carrying out research and report drafting for a legal aid organisation, and advocating for asylum seekers’ human rights at national and European levels.
Sinéad joined Nasc in 2022 to coordinate Nasc’s role as Co-Chair of the 2023 Annual Tripartite Consultations on Resettlement (ATCR). Sinéad has now returned to Nasc to support the implementation of the Community Sponsorship Ireland programme. Sinéad is passionate about advocating for the human rights of those forced to flee their homes.
