Nasc prepares to showcase its Women’s Programme exhibition at Cork City Library

We’ve been busy preparing our ‘Sweet Dreams: Lullabies from Around the World’ Exhibition at Cork City Library.

It is a collection of native bedtime songs sung by people who took part in Nasc’s

Women’s Programme. The artists also used drawing, pictures, crochet and sewing to add a visual element to their choice of lullaby.

Lullabies are a universal expression of parental love and a desire to provide comfort and security to a child. The melodies span borders and languages. This emotional resonance allows individuals to connect with the essence of the lullaby, even if they don’t understand the lyrics. The shared experience of singing lullabies creates a sense of cultural bonding, allowing people from different backgrounds to connect on a human level.

It will be on display until September 30.
